No Way Home star Willem Dafoe, who plays the villainous Green Goblin, is creeping his Saturday Night Live partners pop star Katy Perry and Chris Redd in a new promotional video that you can watch below! Willem Dafoe will be seen hosting SNL this coming week, with Perry as the musical guest on the show; with Dafoe coming off after the huge wave of success that he has enjoyed for No Way Home, which brought his Norman Osborn villain from the original Sam Raimi’s Spider-Man films over to the MCU. The all-new set of Saturday Night Live promos plays up the actor’s quirky, weird, and sometimes creepy onscreen persona in the best possible way!

Willem Dafoe Predicts SNL Will Be the Best Night of His Entire Life

Since 2020, and now, the rise of the COVID-19 Omicron variant Saturday Night Live Season 47 ended the previous year on quite a dour note, as its host Paul Rudd’s episode was cut down to a skeleton crew of live cast members, with no musical guest on-board, and a well, a lot of pre-taped sketches and some old sketch reruns. SNL has returned from its holiday break now, doing business as usual, with a lot of fun host lineups in the year 2022 that include former SNL member (and current MacGruber star) Will Forte and West Side Story star Ariana DeBose.

Willem Dafoe has finally turned into the arena of blockbuster superhero films in the past few years, starting with a supporting role in DC’s Aquaman franchise and now a role in Marvel and Sony’s Spider-Man movie franchise. Obviously, Willem Dafoe’s return as the notorious Green Goblin might be easily a one-off appearance, but many fans are already rooting for more from the veteran actor. The end of Spider-Man: No Way Home did leave a door open for Willem Dafoe’s Norman to be part of a new chapter of the Sam Raimi Universe; however, that’s looks like a long shot, but now fans also have some ideas for where Dafoe could actually shine in the multiverse of DC Movies, as well: similar to Todd Phillips’ Joker franchise:

“There is something interesting about, like, if there was a Joker imposter,” Dafoe said in an interview with GQ. “So it would be possible to have not only dueling Jokers but someone that says to be the Joker that isn’t the Joker. And that kind of opens up the possibility of an interesting story, particularly if you had Joaquin Phoenix’s Joker, and then you had someone who was either imitating or riffing off what he did. I fantasized about that. But other than that I am not talking to anybody [about it], you’re the first one.”

Saturday Night Live air on Saturday nights, only on NBC and streams the next day on Hulu.
