Harley-Joker Team-Up Film and Jared Leto’s ‘Joker’ Film NOT Happening
DC is moving ahead with many projects right now, including a few starring Harley Quinn. However, a Joker-Harley team-up film isn’t one of those projects.
Upcoming DC Films:
The movie slate of DC includes Matt Reeves’ Batman, Cathy Yan’s Birds of Prey (The Fantabulous Emancipation of Harley Quinn) and Patty Jenkins’ Wonder Woman 1984. However, according to Forbes the Joker-Harley team-up has been put aside for now, if not take out completely.

Should Jared Leto deserve another chance?
That’s not the only DC film to go off the radar. Jared Leto’s solo Joker film has also been pushed out of the limelight. Leto’s performance in Suicide Squad as Joker was divisive but had its fans. Nevertheless, we are getting a standalone Joker film starring Joaquin Phoenix in the lead role.
DC’s Plans For Harley and Joker (if any):
As for Robbie’s Harley Quinn, she won’t be in a team-up film with The Joker but she will be pretty busy nevertheless. The actress will be front and centre in Birds of Prey and will also play an important role in Gotham City Sirens. This should end up pairing her with Poison Ivy and Catwoman, who would make their onscreen debuts. Recent reports even claim that it will be a sort of Harley Quinn trilogy, with the final act being a Gotham City Sirens vs Birds of Prey film.

If DC were to introduce Batgirl solo film in between these films, they could introduce her as the new leader of Birds of Prey in the final film. This would give fans the team they know from the comics.
There are also rumours for a Suicide Squad 2 under development but it’s still unclear if Jared Leto’s Joker will be present in the film or if they would simply wipe the slate and start over with the character.
