The Cursed Child book was released in 2016 and was a British two-part play written by Jack Throne based on the original story by John Tiffany, J.K.Rowling, and Throne. It was a Harry Potter book after 2007 (Deathly Hallows) so it was obvious the fans were excited to grab their copies and know what was going to happen in the book.

The Cursed Child didn’t do that well as the other books (duh), but the play was certainly applauded by many. Fans did love certain parts of the book and things that should have been included in the original Harry Potter series. Potterheads expected the movie to come on the big screen. But it has been almost 6 years and that is still hoped by many. Here are a few reasons why The Cursed Child needs a movie of its own!

1. Possible Alterations To The Story

The entire plot of the play isn’t that well known, so that gives the creative freedom to the makers to change the story here and there and make it much more watchable for the audience. They could tweak the character faults and plot holes and make a solid story out of the same. It could actually prove to be better than the one fans saw in the play. Also, this could be a great way to correct all the mistakes.

2. Diversity

Hermione

Fans were shocked to see Hermione’s ethnicity changed in The Cursed Child. There were a lot of arguments, discussions, and even debates on this. JK Rowling came forward and said that she had never mentioned Hermione’s race. Well, okay we all agreed with this!

This would be a great way to make the Potterworld diverse too even if it’s on-screen and not in the original books.

3. We will meet Delphini

Delphini is the daughter of Voldemort and Bellatrix and she travels back to the night when her father murdered the Potters. Now, this night has always been fascinating for the Potterheads. Don’t get us wrong! We mean, weren’t always curious to know what had happened (on the big screen). We did enjoy the flashback sequence but we wanted more! If the film happens, this could be a great scene to watch, and moreover, Delphini will be a great antagonist.

4. Just Imagine the Effects!

It’s been 21 years since the first Harry Potter movie came out and we still love the effects even today. We could have a great experience while watching the Cursed Child in the cinemas too. People who watched the play didn’t find these scenes much wow and it makes sense considering it’s not easy to bring them to life without special effects. If the movie is made, there would be a huge budget and it could do wonders.

5. The Cursed Child Film Would Be A Huge Success

When Fantastic Beasts and Where to Find Them came out, it saw a great deal of audience and earned a lot of money. That definitely proved that no matter what Harry Potter universe movie is released, Potterheads are going to rush to the theatres to watch it.

So it’s a no-brainer that the movie will be a box office hit if they ever decide to do it!
