When writer JK Rowling gave us the iconic Harry Potter series, she did hide enough hints and some extra clues about various characters and magical items. While many such items arent’ really unexplained and are noticeable, only when a devoted Harry Potter fan goes back and reads the HP series again.

There were some Redditors, who were surprised at the time they did this and came up with some details that do make some sense. While some theories are so subtle that only the most devoted fans would notice, there are others that become really obvious as the saga went on.

The Ministry Of Magic Password

Harry is taken by Mr. Waesley to the Ministry of Magic in Order of the Phoenix, as they are seen shoving themselves inside a phone booth. Once the secret password is typed by Mr. Weasley on the phone booth payphone, the floor gets lowered and they are taken down into the secretly hidden Ministry.

Eagle-eyed Redditor OlivanderWild went on to notice an interesting thing about the password used by Mr. Weasley to gain access to the entrance of the Ministry. This code is actually 62442, and when you look at the letters that are associated with the numbers on the keypad of the phone, even this code spells out M-A-G-I-C. Nice, isn’t it?

The Vanishing Cabinet

In The Half-Blood Prince, the broken cabinet present at Hogwarts and there’s another one up for sale at the Knockturn Alley are the gateways that Draco uses to take in Death Eaters inside the castle, ultimately leading to the tragic death of Dumbledore.

Redditor Trekkie_becky went on to notice that this isn’t the very first time Harry Potter readers hear about the magical cabinet. This cabinet is mentioned in Chamber of Secrets at first inside which Harry hides at Borgin and Burkes, and then once more, in Order of the Phoenix when George and Fred notoriously shove a nasty Slytherin inside the one that’s present at Hogwarts.  While this cabinet seemed like just some random furniture on both occasions, but later became an essential part of the storyline.

Lupin’s Revealing Name

Professor Lupin is introduced in Prisoner of Azkaban and fans are sure that there is something unusual about him, but till the end, they aren’t sure what. Obviously, it is revealed that he is actually a werewolf.

Reddit User NerdFighteriaOrBust points out that viewers should have been able to see through Lupin’s secret much earlier, thanks to his name. ‘Remus’ is born out of the legend of Romulus and Remus, and the two were nursed by a wolf as kids, while Lupin is derived from the Latin word “Lupinus” which stands for, “of a wolf.”

Petunia Did Mention Snape

It’s not really much of a secret that Aunt Petunia had disdain towards the wizarding world. Due to this, Harry was really surprised when she was aware of some series details about the Azkaban and Dementors. When she was questioned by Harry over it, she replies with, “I heard that awful boy telling her about them years ago.”

Many people assumed that this is James. But a user on Reddit surprised everyone when came across this a second time. After reading the Deathly Hallows, HP fans were aware of the fact that it was Professor Snape that Aunt Petunia overheard revealing Lily about the Dementors, a detail that is present ONLY in the Harry Potter books. While this comment is easily forgettable, after one more read, it’s quite clear that it was the first hint about Snape’s friendship with Lily.

The Mirror Of Erised

A magical mirror is famously known as The Mirror of Erised is seen debuting in the Sorcerer’s Stone that showcases the viewers their deepest desire. Just like many, Harry is obsessed over it for a long time, as it shows him a family that he never actually came to know.

Here’s an amazing detail: Redditor Snow417 reveals another clever wordplay from JK Rowling’s towards the Mirror of Erised. The name did sound like ancient Latin, but it is much simpler than that. Erised is basically “desire” spelled backward. Shocked, aren’t you?
