Ever since Kate Bishop was a young girl, she has wanted to be a hero. After she saw Clint Barton’s heroism during 2012’s Battle of New York, she got inspired to want to help others, having the aspirations to join the Avengers ever since. Marvel’s Hawkeye, which concluded its first season yesterday, was all about Kate Bishop’s journey to become a hero, even learning from Barton and teaching him a few things along the way. Now that Hawkeye is over, all Marvel fans are wondering if it’s finally time for Kate to join the first team roster.

The Marvel comics see Kate taking over the Hawkeye mantle from Clint Barton. She worked with the Avengers on a few occasions but has always been tied to the Young Avengers team. Now that she’s established herself in the MCU, Kate could join some kind of heroic team-up in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, but is she ready for it? While talking to Entertainment Tonight recently about the finale of Hawkeye, Hailee opened up about where her character finds herself and what her future could hold.

Here’s what Hailee Steinfeld Had To Say:

“She, I think, is forced into the reality of what it means to be a superhero. It’s not all jumping from buildings and making people smile. There is, as she says, collateral damage that can go along with it,” Steinfeld explained.

“But that doesn’t stop her,” she added. “I think it throws her and it alters her outlook, but it doesn’t stop this burning fire within her to ultimately help people and protect people. She knows she’s capable of that. And I think that alone can take us anywhere.”

Hawkeye might not have finished with a “Kate Bishop Will Return” message, but it’s been made quite clear that her character is here to stay. Kate’s relationship with Clint will probably continue to evolve as he goes on to teach her. Eventually, there will be a major threat that should be dealt with, and the Earth’s Mightiest Heroes will gather together once again. If Clint gets the call for the fight, do you think there’s any chance that Kate would simply let him go without tagging along herself?

The state of the Avengers in the MCU is quite unclear at the moment, but when the team gets back again, it is surely going to need a few new members. So, one shouldn’t be surprised if Kate is one of them.
