Kelly Ripa opens up about returning to the Academy Awards as she along with her Live! co-host, Ryan Seacrest will be conducting interviews with the winners of the night which will air the day after the Oscars on March 13, at 9 a.m.

The former has already been a part of this special segment the Oscars conducts every year apart from the main event which is why she understands the situation more than the latter. Unlike Ripa, the 48-year-old will be backstage for the first time.

The 52-year-old TV host in an interview with Variety opened up about the situation the latter is unaware of as he is excited about the event.

The reason behind his excitement is as she shared,

“He’s never been backstage when everybody comes off stage after having just won an Oscar.”

She went on to state how he has no idea about the situation backstage.

“He doesn’t even understand the claustrophobia he will experience when we’re in this little tiny area. It is so small.”

The reason is quite simple as she calls it “the fifth dimension.” Many stars won “an Academy Award, and it is the biggest achievement in their career, so they are floating on cloud nine.”

Stating the scenario as “thrilling and overwhelming and shocking,” she shared that the segment will lead to the best interviews as people will share anything with their interviewer just because they won an Academy Award.

Even though Ripa has done many red-carpet shows, she still has “pinch me” moments often adding that the event is such a big event also makes her “nervous” however she shared that she is continuously preparing for it and be ready to be the in charge of After Oscar Show along with her co-host by the time it happens.
