Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen have separated now, after 13 beautiful years of being married. And it has come as a shock to a lot of fans just because of how close the two have always been. The couple tied the knot in 2009, and have looked strong ever since, with the Brazilian supermodel even leaving her career on standby for showing her commitment to the relationship. That is just how much she loved Tom Brady. But in the end, it wasn’t meant to be.
Tom Brady and Gisele Bündchen were lovely as a couple
The love was definitely not one-sided. The two first met each other in 2006, on a blind date set up by one of their friends. They hit it off on their very first date, and things just seemed perfect. And they knew that it was meant to be something serious. Gisele Bündchen said,
“We met through a friend. The moment I saw him, he smiled and I was like, ‘That is the most beautiful, charismatic smile I’ve ever seen!’ We sat and talked for three hours. I had to go home for Christmas, but I didn’t want to leave.”
The quarterback had only just broken up with his ex-girlfriend Bridget Moynahan who soon revealed after Brady and Bundchen had officially started dating that she was expecting his child. This was a big roadblock in the budding relationship but the NFL power couple sailed through it.

When Tom Brady made the call to pop the question to his girlfriend, he did so in style. The former Victoria’s Secret Angel recalled the fateful day when Brady invited her back to his apartment by telling her that the apartment had been flooded. She said, “When I got there, the whole apartment had candles and rose petals everywhere, and then he went down on his knees to propose.”
A normal person’s reaction would be either Yes, or something no one wants to hear, ever. But she took a third route. All because the person who proposed to her wasn’t a normal person as well.
The 7-time Super Bowl winner was on his knees, despite just having undergone surgery and three staph infections. She recollected her first response, saying, “And I’m like, ‘get up!’ because he just had surgery and had three staph infections.”
But Brady was not one to relent; if he was going to do it, he was going to do it the right way.
Things did not turn out the way they were meant to be
Tom Brady went to the heights of sitting on his knees because of a rather strange reason. The Tampa Bay Buccaneers player stressed that he proposed this way just because that is how a seemingly unbreakable bond would be shaped. A mere injury was not going to make him do away with that.
Times have changed now though, as Brady eventually ended up choosing his career over his wife. When Bundchen faced that choice, she chose love over her career. Not everyone can make that choice we guess.
