“He regretted it and returned home”: Pique Reportedly Wanted to Break up With Clara Chia Marti to Save His Relationship With Shakira

According to new reports, the former Barcelona player has attempted to make amends with the Waka Waka singer, but she has shown no sign of forgiveness. Univision journalist Jordi Martin reported that Pique tried to reunite with Shakira a month after their breakup.

The breakup of Shakira and football player Gerard Pique was one of the most famous reported celebrity stories of 2022. Now, it’s speculated that Pique may have attempted to reconcile with the Whenever, Wherever singer after changing his mind. But a few weeks ago, the Hips Don’t Lie singer made headlines when she released the diss/breakup song, Out Of Your League, which went on to shatter all YouTube records. The song’s lyrics viciously dig at her former partner Gerard Pique.
In fact, the line “I’m not coming back to you, not even if you cry or beg me” from the singer’s most recent hit, BZRP Music Sessions #53, made a subtle allusion to this. The remark might or might not have been referring to Pique, who is making an actual effort to mend his differences with her. A recent report from Univision journalist Jordi Martin has given this rumor even more fuel.
According to him, Shakira’s close friends have said that the football player decided to break up with her in April 2022, but a month after she left the family home, he tried to persuade her to move on and resume a normal life.
According to Martin, Pique decided to try again after regretting leaving Shakira. But since this was unlikely, Pique left to begin his new life with Clara Chia. “A month later he regretted it and returned home, but it didn’t work out and they decided to break up completely.” Clara was already there by that time, he said.

Singer-songwriter Shakira has opened up about how her children are adjusting to the split, almost three months after she and Gerard Pique publicly announced their separation. E! News reported that she recently said to a magazine, “I’ve kept quiet and just tried to process it all. Um, and yeah, it’s hard to talk about it, especially because I’m still going through it, and because I’m in the public eye and because our separation is not like a regular separation.”
The Don’t You Worry hitmaker is, however, making every effort to keep her children away from the divorce and the media coverage. But even months later, it’s still difficult to get over the breakup. In her own words, Shakira said, “Sometimes I just feel like this is all a bad dream and that I’m going to wake up at some point.”
The couple began dating in 2010, and have been together for more than 11 years. The couple has two kids.
