John Travolta has taken a ‘vow of celibacy for the rest of his life’

It’s been more than two years since Kelly Preston died and From Paris with Love actor can’t stop himself but just expressing his grief over the loss. After a long battle with br**st cancer that went unnoticed for about two years, John Travolta announced that his wife had passed away at age 57. The Face/Off actor shared a picture of his late wife and broke the sad news on Instagram at the time.

Now that Radar Online recently reported that the 68-year-old has vowed never to date again and has been having difficulty coping with his grief.

According to an insider, the Saturday Night Fever star “still considers himself married” and says “he will stay loyal to Kelly until the day he dies,” adding that the actor won’t even “look” at another woman despite his friends’ urging him to go out on dates.

According to the insider, “It’s sad, but he’s essentially taken a vow of celibacy for the rest of his life.” Simply put, he finds it impossible to imagine ever falling in love again. He claims that doing so would betray the Medium actress’ memory, as the insider has reported.

Kelly Preston and John Travolta had a long and loving marriage that lasted until the day of the actress’s tragic death in July 2020. The long-lasting couple met and fell in love while working together on the 1989 film The Experts. In an interview with Us Weekly in 2018, Imposters actress recalled their first encounter, 

 “I see, no lie, coming across the hall with his two dogs, this really hot guy. Then he stops and says hello. And I was like, ‘Oh s–t. Kill me now.’ You know, like, ‘Oh, my God.’”

They were equally smitten, just like any other fairy tale love story. The Taking of Pelham 123 actor admitted to Us in 2018 that the two had “immediate chemistry” from the moment they met. The 68-year-old actor paid a heartfelt tribute to his late wife on Instagram after she passed away.

The Get Shorty said, “It is with a very heavy heart that I inform you that my beautiful wife Kelly has lost her two-year battle with br**st cancer.”

Their marriage lasted almost 29 wonderful years. Throughout her career, Preston played parts in the films From Dusk Till Dawn, Twins, The Cat in the Hat, and Jerry Maguire. The 2018 crime biopic Gotti featured the late actress in one of her final on-screen roles, sharing the screen with her husband.
