Shakira posted a new music video for her song that she dropped in collaboration with fellow musician Ozuna. In the music video for Monotonia, a heart can be seen that is being stepped on. With everything going on in the singer’s life, it’s not hard to connect the dots. The song itself is about going through a failed relationship. The singer recently ended her relationship with footballer Gerard Pique after 12 years. The footballer was reportedly cheating on the singer with a young woman named, Clara Chia Marti. Since their split, the two have been fighting over custody of their two sons, Sasha and Milan.
Shakira dropped a song about heartbreak
Monotonia, the song Shakira dropped recently, is mainly about going through a failed relationship, something which she is going through right now. In the music video, Shakira comes across someone who appears to be an ex-partner, who then proceeds to shoot a bazooka at her making a hole in her chest. The singer then walks around with her heart in her hand which is later stepped on but she ultimately locks it up in a safety deposit box. All of these small details could be a subtle dig at her ex-partner, Gerard Pique, who is now dating Clara Chia Marti.
Gerard Pique and Shakira ended their 12-year-long relationship
Shakira and Gerard Pique announced their split in a joint statement in June putting an end to their 12-year-long relationship. The two started dating in 2010 after they filmed a music video for Shakira’s hit song, Waka Waka (This Time for Africa).
They share two sons, Sasha and Milan. The two are trying their best to decide who gets their custody without a legal battle. Shakira reportedly wants to move to Miami as soon as she gets custody of them, while Gerard Pique wants them to continue living in their familiar surroundings in Barcelona.

Reports say Gerard Pique’s infidelity could possibly be the reason why they decided to end their relationship. Sources say Gerard Pique has been dating Clara Chia Marti, for almost a year now and when the singer got to know about his affair, she called off their relationship.
The ex-couple recently met to reach a conclusion over the custody of their kids but the outcome is still the same. The singer is reportedly asking for more control over her kids, which is making the footballer mad. Shakira is also going through another legal dispute as Spanish authorities accused her of tax fraud.
