The Aquaman star claimed in an op-ed that she was a victim of domestic violence, leading her ex-husband to file a defamation case. The trial was live-broadcasted, and as people chose the support their favorite actor, Hollywood stars also picked sides.

While most of the stars supported Johnny Depp, Amber Heard also received her share of support from the film industry. One of the prominent stars supporting the Fantastic Beasts star was Penélope Cruz. Cruz starred in multiple films alongside Depp and supported him throughout the trial.

Javier Bardem Supports Johnny Depp

Johnny Depp’s co-star Penélope Cruz supported him throughout the defamation trial. “During six months of my first pregnancy, I spent every single day with him while we shot Pirates of the Caribbean,” Cruz said in her declaration. She also mentioned that she and her husband are grateful for the way Depp treated her during the filming.

“My husband [actor Javier Bardem] and I will never forget the sweetness, protection, and kindness he treated me with during every single step of that process. We love him very much, and I feel lucky to have someone so special in our lives.”

While the Volver star felt grateful for Depp’s support, her husband, Javier Bardem, find Depp “very accessible, and very generous.” Bardem worked with the American actor during the 2000 film Before Night Falls.

Joining his wife, the Skyfall star shared his declaration in Depp’s support. In his declaration, Bardem said that he loves Depp for being free with his art and thanked him for always being there when people needed him.

In one of his interviews, he shared his experience working with Depp saying that he loved working with him as was so easy, so soft, and so flexible. He also called the Rum Diary star a good human being who smiles and loves people around him even in difficult times.
