‘I grabbed my stuff and ran away’: Kate Moss Recalls Harrowing Audition That Nearly Resulted in Sexual Assault and Comeback Story To Become Legendary Super Model
Kate Moss, the British model, and businesswoman is without a doubt, one of the most recognized models of recent decades. Moss rose to fame in the early 1990s as part of the heroin chic fashion trend. Kate Moss has recently revealed a traumatic episode that she had to live through at the beginning of her career, at just 15 years of age. Moss went on record to reveal, some of the horrid experiences she had during her time as a model.
Kate Moss opens up about the modeling industry
“I was probably 15, and the photographer told me to take my top off. I took off my top, and he asked me to take off my bra. I could feel that was wrong, so I grabbed my stuff and ran away,” the supermodel said. She says it helped her sharpen her instincts. Moss says, she knew how to “spot a bad guy from afar”. She added that in her early years, posing topless made her feel “vulnerable and objectified“.
In such a prolific career spanning decades in the fashion world, she has had several traumatic episodes. Moss had revealed taking valium to calm her anxiety about doing a nude shoot, owing to her traumatic past while being a part of similar projects.
Why did Moss support Depp in the trial?
For someone, with a past as ordeal as Moss’, t might seem unlikely for her, to come in support of a person accused of domestic violence against a woman. However, Moss’ testimony in court was a major turning point for the Amber Heard trial. Kate Moss had an affair with Johnny Depp between 1994 and 1998 and did not hesitate to defend her ex-partner in a recent famous trial that pitted the actor against ex-wife Amber Heard. Heard had claimed that Depp pushed Kate Moss down the stairs during a holiday in Jamaica, something the British model denied in court. Kate Moss’ defense of accusations against Depp was pivotal to the trial, which ended in Johnny Depp’s favor.
In the same interview in which she revealed her problems in the modeling world, Moss revealed the reasons for her involvement in the Johnny Depp vs Amber Heard trial.“I believe in truth, fairness and, justice,” Moss said. “Only I know what happened, and I know he didn’t throw me down the stairs.”
