Iggy Azalea has consistently made headlines for her well-known songs, such as Problem, but she also makes headlines for her conflicts. Just like her retiring news, the rapper was embroiled in a scandal over her song I Am the Stripclub after being accused of blackfishing. Although many assumed that her abrupt departure from the business was connected to this incident the rapper explained her decision at the time she made it. Blackfishing, or dressing up like a person of color, is a behavior frowned upon. A person may blackfish to attract attention, get money, or imitate Black people and their culture.

The 32-year-old Black Widow star clarified some misunderstandings about what it truly means for her as an artist in her social media response to a post regarding the supposed sale of her song masters. The rapper’s comeback was in August on the same platform where she stated that she never wanted to come back. She said that there was a lot of negative energy in the music industry which forced her to take her step down but now she is ready to fight the negative energy.

Iggy Azalea’s Controversy for her song I am the Stripclub

Back in July 2021, the rapper became embroiled in a scandal over her song I Am the Stripclub, which attracted a lot of criticism from listeners amid rumors that she had tried to darken her skin tone.
