Even 25 years after their separation, Brad Pitt still has warm feelings for his ex-fiance, Gwyneth Paltrow. In an interview on Paltrow’s Goop website, Pitt discussed his new clothing brand, God’s True Cashmere. In the course of the interview, the friendly exes noted how, despite not ending up together, they still maintained a close relationship with each other. The Se7en co-stars were in a relationship from 1994, before calling it quits in 1997. But in the interview, they reminisced how well their life had turned out and remembered the role Gwyneth’s late father, Bruce played in their lives.

In the interview, Pitt was discussing his new clothing brand God’s True Cashmere. During the interview, Gwyneth remembered her late father, who died in 2002. She recounted how happy her father was that Brad Pitt would be his son-in-law. She jokingly added: “though we didn’t get married, unfortunately.”

Pitt responded with a laugh. And noted how “everything works out” in the end.

Gwyneth agreed. She also said how she ‘finally found the Brad I was supposed to marry’ albeit after a 20-year delay.  This joke was a reference to the Great Expectations actress’ wedding with producer Brad Falchuk in September 2018.

After separating from Pitt, Paltrow married Coldplay musician Chris Martin in 2003, though they separated amicably in 2014. They share two kids: Apple, 18, and Moses, 16. Paltrow then married Falchuk, 51, in 2018. Pitt, meanwhile, married Jennifer Aniston in 2000. They announced their separation in January 2005. He then wed Angelina Jolie in August 2014, and they share six children. Jolie filed for divorce from Pitt in 2016.

This is not the first time the Iron Man actress has opened up about her relationship with her ex-husbands.
Paltrow previously opened up about staying friends with Pitt, whom she co-starred with in 1995’s Se7en. She told Harper’s Bazaar in January 2020 that they are “friendly” and she doesn’t “have any really bad blood” with any of her exes.

A parental figure

Gwyneth's Father
Bruce Paltrow was considered a father figure by both Pitt and Paltrow
Paltrow’s father was also regarded as a father figure by Brad Pitt, who admitted that he “one hundred per cent” felt paternal energy from the late director. He believed Bruce had the same aura like that of a coach or mentor and guided him just like one.
