She rose to fame thanks to her independently made Instagram series Girl Who Has Never Been on a Nice Date. She also developed two streaming series with BuzzFeed Motion Pictures in addition to producing and acting in content for BuzzFeed Video. The writer has even voiced characters in the animated series Lazor Wulf and Magical Girl Friendship Squad. The Abbott Elementary creator has been trending on social media at the moment due to a stunt Jimmy Kimmel pulled during the time she was being awarded the Emmy 2022.

The American comedian, Quinta Brunson recently won her first Emmy Award. The writer received it for Outstanding Writing in a Comedy Series, for her popular show Abbott Elementary. She was competing against the writers for Barry, Hacks, Only Murders in The Building, Ted Lasso, and What We Do In The Shadows. The 32-year-old actress even received a standing ovation for her victory. Quinta Brunson became the second Black woman in Emmy history to independently win in the category, with Lena Waithe being the first. Although her accomplishment is a big one that is being celebrated, fans believe that Jimmy Kimmel ruined her moment.

At the 74th Primetime Emmy Awards on Monday night, the Jimmy Kimmel Live! host pretended to be dead onstage. He did this while Quinta Brunson, 32, got her trophy for outstanding writing in a comedy series. Despite being prompted to rise by the actress, the host remained on the floor throughout her speech. He lay on the ground as part of some comical act until Quinta Brunson left the stage carrying her prize. In order to reach the microphone, she really had to step over Jimmy Kimmel at one point since he refused to stand up.

With regard to this Quinta Brunson remarked to reporters in the Emmys press room that it wasn’t initially upsetting, but might feel differently in the morning as she is just happy at the moment.

“I don’t know. I don’t really… I know Jimmy Kimmel and I don’t know. I felt like the bit didn’t bother me that much,” she said. “I don’t know. Tomorrow, maybe I’ll be mad at him, I’m going to be on his show on Wednesday, so I might punch him in the face. I don’t know what’s going to happen.“

After doing a less-than-hilarious stunt during the actor-writer Quinta Brunson’s Emmys victory speech, Jimmy Kimmel is taking the heat. Although it may have attracted laughter at first, fans complained that he took it too far. The comedian is now receiving a lot of backlash because of his performance. 

Twitter is filled with fans posting about the incident and how it was ‘not a joke’. Jimmy Kimmel is being branded as an insufferable white man who could not see Quinta Brunson succeed. He is also being called racist and misogynistic for his actions. People on social media have criticized the host for his inappropriate behavior. Some have even demanded an apology to Quinta Brunson from him.
