“I thought I was ready for a relationship with a woman with kids and everything”: Jennifer Lopez’ Ex-Lover Casper Smart Claims He Wasn’t Ready For Massive 20 Year Age Gap
Jennifer Lopez has been in a number of high-profile relationships since the 2000s. After her romance with Ben Affleck and marriage with Marc Anthony did not work out, the American singer was not really looking for a relationship when she found one. Back in 2011 after her split from Marc Anthony, J.Lo got into a relationship with one of her backup dancers, Casper Smart. Although the couple had strong feelings for each other, they had a massive age difference. Smart was 18 years younger than J.Lo and that made things difficult for the duo eventually.
Back in 2019, Smart opened up about his split from the Papi singer in an interview.

Jennifer Lopez first got close to Casper Smart back in 2011. The duo was allegedly shooting for J.Lo’s Dance Again video back then. Smart mentioned that initially he and J.Lo tried to keep their relationship as private as possible. But, as days went by, it became more and more difficult to hide it as they were spotted in public together quite frequently. Talking about how the relationship got serious, Smart said,
“Neither of us thought it would be more than a fun time and suddenly we were spending time together, we enjoyed each other’s company, there was chemistry.“
The Dancing With the Stars judge mentioned how young he was when they started the relationship. He said, “I was very young, I was 23 or 24, and she was 18 years older.” He also mentioned they spent every day together for a year because “everything just clicked.”

Back in 2019, Casper Smart revealed why his relationship with the On the Floor singer did not work out. He blamed the 18-year age difference for his failed relationship. He said, “I was very young and selfish. I thought I was ready for a relationship with a woman with kids and everything.” Although their relationship ended a long time ago, Smart is still on friendly terms with Lopez.
Jennifer Lopez has been in the headlines since she got married to Ben Affleck last year in July. Quite recently, it was reported that the couple has been facing marital troubles just after a few months since they got married. They also threw a star-studded Christmas party in December allegedly to distract the media.
