Meghan Trainor is a big name in the music industry. She has continued to give great hits to her fans and returned to reclaim the hit charts with her new album, Takin’ It Back which was released in October last year. While her popularity continues to rise due to her catchy songs and viral TikToks, the singer has also opened up about the struggles she faced with body image and self-confidence.

Things went quite off for her during her music journey. While her son, Riley is a blessing to her and her husband, Daryl Sabara, she opened up about the criticism she faced after childbirth.
Meghan Trainor Opened Up About Being Conscious About Her Body Image

The 29-year-old singer, Meghan Trainor had dealt with a fair number of struggles in her life in which her body image was what she was most conscious about. Things were never great for her especially when it came to body positivity however she gained extreme weight, weighing over 200 pounds when she was pregnant with her son, Riley. Even his childbirth was not a great situation as there were some complications as she told on Today show,
“It was one of those horror stories where he didn’t cry.” She continued, “He didn’t make noise when he came out. I was like, ‘Why isn’t he crying?’ Then they told me he was having breathing issues.”
While her son is healthy and doing great, she opened up about she had to go through a C-section during childbirth which affected her body.
“I just wasn’t feeling great. I’ve never had stitches, so to have this C-section scar, I was in a really dark place and I wanted to be in a great place for my son.”
Things were not going great as she shared about the criticism she had undergone after giving birth to her son.

The television personality opened up about her continuous body image struggle and the self-confidence she had to work on after she saw major physical changes following childbirth. This could also be because of the criticism she had to bore when her son slept a lot after birth, with many blaming it on her as she took the antidepressants while having him.
Even though she took the lowest medication recommended by the doctor, she was always under negative attention, which is why she needed her confidence back. Her first pregnancy journey was not a bed of roses due to her “gestational diabetes,” but it all worked out in the end the couple welcomed their son.
“Then after my baby came out, I was like, ‘I want to live forever.’ … I was like if I can get through a C-section, I can do anything. And I just changed everything about my life. I was like, nothing scares me anymore.”
She has lost 60 pounds since she gave birth in February 2021. Not just physically but exercise has helped her mentally as well. She is now expecting her second child with her better half, Daryl Sabara.
