Katy Perry is an American singer, songwriter, and actress. She first rose to fame with her second commercial album One of the Boys in 2008. Her single I Kissed a Girl reached number one on the U.S. Billboard Hot 100. Perry is widely known for her influence on the pop genre in the 2010s. In a recent talk show, it was revealed that the pop sensation fled from the BBC Radio Studio because of a prank back in 2011.
Katy Perry was Pranked by BBC Radio DJ Scott Mills
The Radio DJ Scott Mills tried to prank Perry in 2011 and it almost backfired on him. He thought that it would be really funny to have her in the same room with her then-husband and comedian Russell Brand‘s look-alike. So they sent a doppelganger of his in the same room with Perry and he even sounded like Brand. Scott Mills said, “Katy Perry absolutely freaked out and ran.”
It was later revealed that the timing of the prank wasn’t good as the ex-couple was having marital problems at the time. The DJ added, “I remember hearing her saying, ‘I’m not going back out there,’ multiple times.” The pop sensation jokingly later added, “You need to play my records for the rest of your life on the radio to make up for it.”
The Pop Sensation reveals details about her Marriage Falling Apart
The ex-couple got married in 2010 in India in a very showy wedding. But their marriage fell apart after 1 year as Brand filed for divorce in December 2011. Both of the stars were quite fond of each other when they got married but as fate would have it, it all went downhill later. Katy Perry said, “I haven’t heard from him since he texted me saying he was divorcing me.”
The Teenage Dream singer added that some men can’t handle a woman who is equal to their stature. She added, “He didn’t like the atmosphere of me being the boss on tour. So that was really hurtful.” Russell Brand has previously said that he also tried in that relationship. He said, “I have nothing but positive feelings for her.”
