“I’m pregnant, I can’t tell anybody”: Hilary Swank Had to Lie About Her Pregnancy Before Shooting 2 Hour Stunt Scenes For Alaska Daily
American actress Hilary Swank has emerged from the motion sickness phase of her pregnancy and is now talking openly about the twins she expects in the spring. According to reports, the Million Dollar Baby star and her husband, Philip Schneider, had not actively tried to conceive, but that being a mother was always something she had envisioned for herself. The Oscar winner shared the news about her pregnancy on Good Morning America in October 2022.
Later, the 48-year-old actress revealed on The Late Late Show with James Corden that she kept the pregnancy news a secret from Alaska Daily cast and crew members until her second trimester. Hilary Swank and Philip Schneider tied the knot in a redwood preserve in Carmel, California, in August 2018, expecting twins.

As Hilary Swank, 48, hid her pregnancy bump on the Alaska Daily set, she performed her acting duties simultaneously very well. In addition, she managed to conceal her pregnancy from the crew and the cast during the shoots since she was in her first trimester. The Million Dollar Baby star appeared on The Late Late Show with James Corden on Monday, discussing her experience during Alaska Daily‘s shoot with the show host James Corden.
Twenty-seven weeks into her pregnancy with twins, the Oscar winner recalled,
“I was like, ‘Oh my God. I’m pregnant. I can’t tell anybody. To do one to two minutes onscreen takes two hours. They want it from this angle, this angle.”
In the running scenes involving her role as the journalist, Swank was particularly concerned about how she would portray the character, Eileen Fitzgerald. Swank thus lied about being a really bad runner to perform a stunt double who could run.
Swank added,
“I ran, and these four men all looked at each other and went, ‘Yeah, you need a stunt double.’ They were like, ‘Why are you running so flatfooted? You’re, like, bent over.’”
After entering her second trimester, the actress revealed her pregnancy on Good Morning America in October 2022.
