A new Spider-Man: No Way Home TV commercial has fresh video of J. Jonah Jameson (J.K. Simmons) responding to the Lizard (Rhys Ifans). For quite some time, it has been speculated that Tom Holland’s Spider-forthcoming Man standalone picture will be set in the multiverse. The presence of Doctor Strange (Benedict Cumberbatch) hinted at this possibility, but it was casting reports of former Spider-Man adversaries returning that confirmed it. Doctor Octopus (Alfred Molina), the Green Goblin (Willem Dafoe), the Sandman (Thomas Hayden Church), Electro (Jamie Foxx), and the Lizard are all returning in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The appearance of these multiverse villains was confirmed in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s second teaser. After the initial teaser merely hinted at all five villains’ involvement, the long-awaited trailer revealed more of them. Their participation isn’t merely a cheap nostalgia effort by Marvel Studios and Sony to reintroduce some prior villains to the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Doctor Strange tells Spider-Man in the Spider-Man: No Way Home trailer that they are all destined to die fighting him in their native realities, which looks to set Peter Parker on a path to save them in some way.

More Electro and Lizard can be seen in a new Spider-Man: No Way Home TV commercial:

While much of the film’s marketing has focused on Doc Ock and the Green Goblin, a new Spider-Man: No Way Home TV promo focuses on Electro and Lizard. The TV commercial aired in Australia and was filmed by a fan (through @spiderbruv), causing it to circulate online. It starts with a fresh Happy Hogan (Jon Favreau) video before providing new glimpses at the two villains from the Amazing Spider-Man trilogy. While Spider-Man is fighting Electro in his black and gold outfit, the Lizard lets out a loud scream. The latter appears to pique Jameson’s interest, prompting J.K. Simmons’ (who previously portrayed Jameson in Sam Raimi’s trilogy before revisiting him in Far From Home) character to inquire whether Lizard is a dinosaur. Check out the video below:

This new Electro and Lizard teaser may provide some insight into their involvement in Spider-Man: No Way Home:

These new Electro and Lizard images may give some insight into their positions in Spider-Man: No Way Home. The new Electro video looks to be from an early confrontation with Tom Holland’s Spider-Man. In this TV commercial, Electro fires some yellow lightning towards Spider-Man, only for the web-slinger to leap out of the way. The Lizard’s new clip is a little more difficult to place since it may be a scene from the last fight shown in Spider-Man: No Way Home’s second trailer. Jameson, on the other hand, is clearly responding to Lizard. With another Spider-Man: No Way Home TV commercial now out, it will be interesting to see how much fresh material Sony incorporates into future ones. So far, the studio has managed to keep a number of anticipated significant scenes out of the promotion. With Spider-Man: No Way Home only a month away from hitting cinemas and expected to be the biggest film of 2021, maybe subsequent TV advertisements won’t be as jam-packed with fresh material as this one.
