Roland Emmerich-directed Independence Day (also promoted as ID4 ) was a big hit in 1996 that grossed over $817.4 million worldwide and became the highest-grossing film of 1996 behind 1993’s Jurassic Park at that time. It had an ensemble cast that includes Will Smith, Bill Pullman, Jeff Goldblum, Mary McDonnell, Judd Hirsch, Margaret Colin, Randy Quaid, Robert Loggia, James Rebhorn, Harvey Fierstein, and Harry Connick.
The science fiction action film raised the bars too high that was very difficult to cross. From creative marketing strategies to an inventive plot, Independence Day had everything you could ever ask for. Will Smith As Captain Steven Hiller
Independence Day, which opened on July third worldwide in 1996, made Will Smith, an international celebrity. Though he was already known in the industry for his famous sitcom The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air, which ran from 1990-1996. He continued to climb the ladder of success both as an actor and producer. He won various accolades and got known for his roles in Men in Black and Bad Boys franchises, along with Hitch, The Pursuit of Happyness (staring his real-life son, Jaden), and Aladdin.
He was involved in an infamous event that happened at Oscars 2022 when he slapped Chris Rock on the stage where the latter joked about Smith’s wife, Jada Pinkett Smith, and got banned from attending the Oscars for 10 years.

Vivica A. Fox had previously starred in an episode of The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air before the 1996’s Will Smith movie. Her career accelerated through her role in the movie. She was even seen reprising her role as Dubrow in the 2016 sequel.
She is known for her role in Kill Bill and Curb Your Enthusiasm. She has starred in many movies since her successful 1996’s Independence Day.
Jeff Goldblum As Tech Wiz David Levinson
Jeff Goldblum was already a star with his 1993’s Jurassic Park. While working in Will Smith’s led movie, he became popular and revised his role in both the franchises’ sequels. He had starred in many TV series and movies like Thor: Ragnarok.
He is a part of a jazz band with the Mildred Snitzer Orchestra, releasing their first album, The Capitol Studios Sessions, in 2018.
Judd Hirsch As David Levinson’s Dad
