Thanos might be a destroyer but he does have a proper reasoning behind it. We agree that his solution does not give true meaning to life and neither is it fair for those who died but his motives are actually relatable and highly debatable to an extent. If you take an example of Zehoberei Planet, Thanos wiped out half of its population and the generations that followed led rather more peaceful lives than before.

This is a horrific thought but it might be the only solution to the current overpopulation in the entire world. But way before he snapped his fingers and killed trillions, he killed Drax’s family. This occurred on Planet Ba-Banis, which came under Thanos’ order. Ronan The Accuser mass murdered innocent people on this planet and among those that died was Drax’s family members. The death of his beloved ones motivated Drax to fight against Ronan and later, Thanos. Here’s what Drax said about the murder of his family in Guardians of the Galaxy Vol. 1. :

“Ronan murdered my wife, Hovat, and my daughter, Kamaria. He slaughtered them where they stood. And he laughed!”

The commentary track of Infinity War shows Joe Russo talking about Drax’s family. He reveals that his family and Planet faced exactly what Gamora’s Planet did. This motivated him to take revenge against Thanos. The scene at Knowhere where Drax doesn’t listen to Star-Lord and attacks Thanos has a deeper meaning than what we just saw and understood.

Thanos fulfilled his life goal by obtaining all the Infinity Stones and snapping his fingers to end half the universe in a single second. Avengers 4 will be huge as it will show Avengers taking on Thanos and eventually defeating him.

Avengers 4 will release in May, 2019.
