The 45-year-old rapper, Kanye West was in the public eye for his anti-semitic remarks that he stated on social media handles and in interviews. The comedian, Dave Chappelle addressed those controversial statements in the latest episode of Saturday Night Live.

He opened his hosting appearance by reading a statement that he wrote on a paper, “I renounce anti-Semitism in all its forms and I stand with my friends in the Jewish community. And that Kanye, is how you buy yourself some time”.

He continued to open up about the Jewish community by stating that he has been in the profession for 35 years. Due to his experience in comedy, he stated, “There are two words in the English language that you should never say together in sequence, and those are: The, and Jews.”

He also addressed the rapper’s rant he stated last month on the Drink Champs podcast where Ye claimed, “I can say antisemitic things and Adidas won’t drop me.”

The comedian slammed him by stating, “They dropped (him) immediately.”

He further stated, “Ironically, Adidas was founded by Nazis, and even they were offended. I guess the students have surpassed the teachers.”

Kanye West has yet to address the recent statement stated by Chappelle about him.

The rapper-turned-fashion designer initially drew attention by wearing a T-shirt with the slogan White Lives Matter written over it, in his surprise Yeezy Paris show.

While he was criticized for that event, he took things to the next level by sharing anti-semitic remarks on social media and in interviews. That turned the tables as he faced major backlash over his remarks.

In a now-deleted tweet, the rapper posted a few weeks ago, he wrote, “I’m a bit sleepy tonight but when I wake up I’m going death con 3 On JEWISH PEOPLE” which majorly hurt the sentiments of the Jewish community.

Due to that, he was not only slammed by his fellow celebrities including his ex-wife Kim Kardashian, but the major brand deals and big collaborations such as BalenciagaGap, and Vogue also ended their ties with him
