Warning: This article contains spoilers for Hawkeye Episode 6 on Disney+.

The finale of Hawkeye is finally upon us and it sees Clint Barton and Kate Bishop putting a bow on their caper in the finale episode of Hawkeye titled, “So This Is Christmas?” After the penultimate episode told us who hired Yelena Belova to kill Clint, Clint and Kate take aim at criminal co-conspirators Eleanor Bishop and Wilson Fisk, the Kingpin. However, it’s the parting gift of Maya Lopez, who has spent the season looking for Ronin, so she can avenge her slain father.

Wearing a tailor-made suit, Wilson Fisk shakes off a bullseye bolt fired at him, vehicular ramming by Eleanor, and an explosive blast triggered by the dangerous trick arrow, that ends in a drag-out fight with Kate. A beaten Wilson Fisk makes his way through a snowy alley where he’s intercepted by Maya, who already has an idea that “Uncle” Fisk was the one who wanted her father dead by Ronin’s sword.

“We’re family,” Fisk says, staring down the barrel of Maya’s gun. “Sometimes family doesn’t see eye to eye.” The camera lifts away moments before Maya pulls the trigger on “Uncle,” Fisk’s apparent death takes place off-screen with the sound of a single shot which is followed by a thud.

The comics see Maya as Fisk’s adopted daughter who blames Matt Murdock aka Daredevil for the murder of her father. Unaware that Matt is her secret lover, Maya attacks him until Matt reveals his true identity — and also lays down Fisk’s manipulations. It’s at the same time that Fisk initially survives various bullet wounds when he’s gunned down by an enemy in Daredevil (Vol. 2) #13.

The heavily-muscled Wilson Fisk is seen wearing the Kevlar body armor and can now go toe-to-toe with powerful enemies like Spider-Man, but Fisk finally meets his match in the comic that inspires the sixth episode of Hawkeye:

The Daredevil (Vol. 2) #15 issue gets over with Maya finally confronting Fisk and shooting him in the head for being responsible for the death of her father. However, Fisk survives the attack but ends up losing his vision for a while.

After he undergoes reconstructive surgery for his blindness abroad, Fisk comes back to New York and sets his sights on taking back his criminal empire in Daredevil (Vol. 2) #46. It is now yet to be seen if MCU’s Fisk follows the same path as his comic book counterpart in the upcoming Hawkeye spinoff series Echo, which is currently under development at Disney+.
