The use of “Master of Puppets,” one of the most known songs of Metallica, has received an endorsement from the legendary metal band itself.

Shared on Instagram, Metallica went on to share the intense sequence from Season 4 of Stranger Things, Volume 2 where Eddie Munson, portrayed by Joseph Quinn plays the “Master of Puppets” intro when the licensed version of the beloved song kicks in.

Here’s What Metallica posted on Stranger Things

“The way [series creators] The Duffer Brothers have incorporated music into Stranger Things has always been next level, so we were beyond psyched for them to not only include ‘Master of Puppets’ in the show but to have such a pivotal scene built around it,” Metallica wrote.

“We were all stoked to see the final result and when we did we were totally blown away… it’s so extremely well done, so much so, that some folks were able to guess the song just by seeing a few seconds of Joseph Quinn’s hands in the trailer!! How crazy cool is that?” the band continued. “It’s an incredible honor to be such a big part of Eddie’s journey and to once again be keeping company with all of the other amazing artists featured in the show.”

“Master of Puppets” is, of course, the title track of the 1986 album of the same name — which is noteworthy, as Stranger Things‘ fourth season jumps the series forward to 1986. Metallica’s third studio album and the last to feature the late, great Cliff Burton on bass, Master of Puppets was originally released on March 3, 1986, featuring such other songs as “Battery,” “The Thing That Should Not Be” and “Disposable Heroes.”

“Master of Puppets” happens to be, obviously, the title track of the 1986’s popular album of the same name — which is also quite noteworthy, as the fourth season of Stranger Things jumps the series to the year 1986. “Master of Puppets” was Metallica’s third album and unfortunately, the final to feature the great Cliff Burton on bass. Originally released on March 3, Master of Puppets, featured other songs like “The Thing That Should Not Be,” “Battery,” and “Disposable Heroes.”

Both Volumes of Stranger Things Season 4 is streaming on Netflix now. Season 5 doesn’t yet have a premiere date yet.
