According to news reports in June, Vivian Jenna Wilson had applied to change her name and gender two months prior, requesting to have her last name changed to Wilson instead of Musk. The 18-year-old, born Xavier Musk, filed papers in Santa Monica, California, to change her name to Vivian Jenna Wilson as she took her mother’s surname, Justine Wilson. Musk married Wilson, a Canadian author, from 2000 to 2008.

A Tesla CEO Elon Musk told the Financial Times that ‘neo-Marxists‘ at educational institutions influenced his child’s decision to distance herself from him. Furthermore, Musk, 51, said without naming the establishment he was referencing, “It’s full-on communism and a general sentiment that if you’re rich, you’re evil.”

Musk and Wilson did not directly address their daughter’s decision at the time, but Wilson seemed to tweet about a conversation with Vivian Jenna Wilson.

Vivian Wilson said to her mother, “‘I had a weird childhood,’ ‘I can’t believe I’m as normal-seeming as I am,'” Wilson wrote at the time, adding that she told her child how “very proud” she was.

“I’m proud of myself!” Vivian, whose name and gender change was granted in June, replied.

In May 2020, Musk and Grimes welcomed their first child, X AE A-XII, two years old now. Also, The couple welcomed their daughter, Exa Dark Sideræl Musk, via surrogate in December 2021.

According to court documents obtained by Business Insider in July 2022, Musk and Neuralink, director of operations and special projects Shivon Zilis, welcomed twins in November 2021. According to court documents, the twins’ names were registered at the same address in Austin but not disclosed yet.
