Blake Shelton reveals why he wants to quit The Voice

The 46-year-old country music star made the shocking announcement of his departure from the US version of the TV talent show public earlier this year. He had been a member of the original coach lineup of The Voice and had appeared in all of its 23 seasons to date.

He said in an interview with People magazine about leaving the well-known TV program: “The holdup over the years has been that it’s a hard thing for me to let go of.”

The musician continued, “I’ve made plenty of money, but time can’t be bought back, so that’s what I want to invest in now, and that’s our kids.”

Shelton stated that his priority was spending time with Stefani and the three sons she has with her ex-husband Gavin Rossdale: Apollo, Kingston, and Zuma.

The sons of Gwen Stefani are cared for by Blake Shelton as though they were his own. He shared with People magazine that the only thing he could possibly risk if he left his career at this point, according to him, is regretting missing out on some more significant aspects of life. Those are his children as of right now.

Shelton added that he feels “settled” after getting married to the No Doubt singer, and is at his happiest when with his family. He has now changed his focus to a life that is less centered around his work and promised that it would never again be about himself only.
