Jujutsu Kaisen : 10 Reasons Why Yuji Itadori Would Still Be Powerful Without Sukuna!

Jujutsu Kaisen was one of the most awaited animes last year. And it was surely a hit at the Crunchyroll Anime Awards. And as if that wasn’t enough ; it ended up winning Best Anime Of The Year too.
The story is pretty simple but extremely interesting and full of action with a supernatural element. The story revolves around the protagonist Yuji Itadori raised by his grandfather who asked him to help people and  in order to save people ends up eating  an cursed object aka one of the fingers of the most powerful cursed spirit in the world Sukuna also known as the King of The Curses. He ends up becoming Sukuna’s vessel and he must eat his 20 fingers. (Sukuna has 4 arms. Do not ask us why.)
Itadori ends up attending Tokyo Jujutsu High as a first year with his classmates Megumi and Nobara. Satoru Gojo – one of the most powerful Jujutsu Sorcerer ever to exist trains Itadori to become a talented and skillful sorcerer,
As the story progresses , we see Itadori learning different methods  to control and use Sukuna’s powers. He is the only one who can keep Sukuna inside and he has left everyone in awe for the same. Even though he took a lot of time to create cursed energy , there are lot of things he can still do without it.
Here are 10 things that could still make him the fan favorite without the Sukuna abilities.

 

10. He Is Super Swift !

Yuji Itadori’s teacher at his normal school really pushed him to take part and be on the sports team because he was so good at it. At the beginning of the anime, we can see how fast he runs to be at the hospital to visit his grandfather. Speed is something which Yuji has been gifted with. He can cross 50 meter track in just 3 seconds. That’s an insane natural ability for a human ! If he was thrown in the jungle with all wild animals , he would definitely match their speed but also could surpass them.
We think he could end up beating Usain Bolt as well!

 

 

9.  He Is Great At Martial Arts !

 

The martial art techniques used by Yuji Itadori in Jujustu Kaisen was really appreciated by the fans. It has been performed and practiced in the real world since the 1960s.
When Yuji understood that combat skills was his forte , he went on to understand and improve himself in the field of Taido Martial Arts. He was already skillful enough to block attacks mid way but then he learnt to incorporate his power to Taido body movements. After that, there was no stopping him, and he learnt how to use his footwork in the fights too !

8. He Has Insane Amount Of  Strength !

 

Yuji was known as the strongest boy in his school among his classmates. And this was well before he ate Sukuna’s finger. He was so good at throwball , that his sports teacher used to beg him to join the team but he always denied. So in order to make him stop asking , he decided to compete with his sensei ; and he not only beat him but also beat the world record. He was better even compared to his school seniors who used to regularly participate and practice for such tournaments.
It can be safe to say that he has some superhuman abilities irrespective of Sukuna’s cursed energy.

 

7. Amazing Will Power !

 

Itadori has some amazing will power. He can withstand any injury and still continue to fight just like most other protagonists in the Shonen jump. Itadori has faced many deadly situations and still he has recovered from each of them.  This is something he has been doing even before he started merging with Sukuna. Before eating the finger, he did fight a cursed spirit to save his colleagues and Megumi. He could have died with those fatal blows but he managed to survive.
He has also lost a limb in the fight but Sukuna once unknowingly healed it.
Irrespective, Itadori’s determination and will power are both applaudable !

Yuji has fast learner. When Gojo gave him a task to watch movies while making cursed energy and half way in his fight went to pick him up, he was extremely impressed with how quick Yuji had learnt to do what he has been assigned. It’s not every day you get a recognition and compliment from the Greatest Jujutsu Sorcerer ever.

Courage is something which cannot be taught but can be inspired.
And every one can take that inspiration from Yuji Itadori. Even before he consumed the cursed finger he was always ready to take up a challenge.
Initially he was introduced in the series as a high school student with jaw dropping abilities compared to his classmates. He has always been active and good looking with great built. It is but obvious that after his consumption of Sukuna’s finger, he has grown phenomenally ! But fans know that even without it , he was fearless ! We wonder how his school mates would react seeing his power now !

 

4. He Has Amazing Combat Techniques !

 

Yuji Itadori has mastered many ancient techniques.
He learnt how do perform an upward kick on the head of any opponent aka the Manji Kick.
Apart from that he has also mastered another ancient technique called Knee Release. This technique helps him to not fall at his opponents feet during his fights.
When he combines his Manji Kick and Knee Release with his own cursed energy , he is very powerful. He can do all this without using help from Sukuna.

 

 

3. He Has A Charming Personality !

 

 

There is no doubt that Yuji Itadori has the most charming personality among his classmates. And of course that is his own personality and he does not need any cursed energy from  Sukuna to use his Charisma. He was also given the title of  “The Tiger Of West Junior High” much before he even started his journey at Jujutsu High!
He has impressed his classmates with his ability to learn all the skills of his seniors and of course his ability to contain and have a strong headed mind to make sure Sukuna does not over take all the time.

 

2. He Can Use Any Weapon With Ease !

 

 

When Gojo Satoru gave a weapon to Yuji Itadori for the very first time , he used the same with a comfortable ease to fight a cursed spirit. That just shows his efficiency and spontaneous ability to master any skill at such a short time even if he has to prove his skill while using a weapon ! He could yield a Jujutsu weapon without any training and that just reveals his natural ability.
He is strong headed and when he decides to achieve something , he makes sure he does it !

 

1. He Is Selfless !

 

Yuji Itadori has no memories of his parents. He was solely raised by his grandfather aka Wasuke Itadori. Yuji was very attached to him. Itadori would rush to hospital after school just to be with him. The day his grandfather died , he told Itadori not to be like him and that he should always help others and save them . Wasuke said this so that Yuji doesn’t die alone and people surround him on his death bed and love him and respect him.
Yuji took his advice to heart.
Fans have often seen him sacrificing himself to save others so even if he doesn’t know them and even if it means his death!
He protected Megumi on multiple occasions and one of them eating the cursed finger.
We all are waiting to see what more is in for us in the next season, but the manga readers already know how it’s going to get !
