An exclusive clip from tomorrow’s Blu-Ray release of The Death Of Superman shows Batman, Aquaman and Martian Manhunter in a brutal battle against Doomsday. The film stars Jerry O’ Connell as Superman and Rebecca Romijn as Lois Lane while Jason O’ Mara as Batman and Matt Lanter as Aquaman.
The clip shows Manhunter trying to read Doomsday’s thoughts and realising that he doesn’t have any real thoughts and that, he is a little more than just a killing machine. The movie is in continuation of Justice League: The Flashpoint Paradox and features the new-52 era costumes.
The movie is a loose adaptation of the “Doomsday” storyline and has a Justice League that features Batman, Wonder Woman, Green Lantern, Flash, Aquaman and Cyborg. The story of Doomsday has been adapted in the past in Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice and on an animated series by James Tucker.
However, the death of Superman is the first movie to use the comic storyline accurately. The creators have carefully adapted the death of Superman as a storyline rather than a mere concept, moulded into a tale. The story shows Superman dealing with a personal commitment while the League gets destructed by Doomsday.
