According to reports, Kanye West idolized Adolf Hitler so much that he wanted to name his 2018 album after him. Antisemitism is reportedly nothing new for Kanye West. However, his lucrative business partnerships quickly ended after he made remarks disparaging Jews recently. According to CNN, Kanye West – who legally changed his name to Ye – has a history of antisemitism.

It wasn’t only West’s fascination for Hitler that was revealed this Thursday at CNN by some sources, but also his attitude towards the Nazi dictator. The initial report by CNN focused mainly on Kanye’s praise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi Party during certain phases of the interview.

Kanye West Wanted To Name His 2018 Album ‘Hitler’

CNN reported that Kanye West was at odds with Universal Music Group and Def Jam Recordings over his album title. Since releasing it in June 2018, West has repeatedly told people that is how they should address him. Nevertheless, CNN’s Chloe Melas reported that West wanted the album to be called ‘Hitler.’ In an intense moment of tension, West agreed to name the album Ye after the dispute over the album’s name.

Reportedly, an ex-TMZ employee also talked about a part of the infamous video where the rapper said slavery is a choice, that was edited out. He is the same employee at TMZ who debated vigorously against West’s controversial claims. However, that’s only the beginning.

A former executive of West who claimed to work for him told CNN that West allegedly had an “obsession” with Hitler and openly discussed reading the Nazi Party leader’s 1925 autobiographical manifesto, Mein Kampf.

The former executive added,

“He would praise Hitler by saying how incredible it was that he was able to accumulate so much power and would talk about all the great things he and the Nazi Party achieved for the German people.”

As far as West’s affinity for the Fuhrer is concerned, this is not the first time it has been reported.

It Was Uncomfortable Working For Kanye West

As a result of Kanye West’s constant praise of Adolf Hitler and the Nazi party, many workers no longer felt comfortable working with him. People horrified by West’s hate speech found it a toxic workplace. As a result of Ye’s behavior, many of the closest collaborators who were once close to Ye ended up leaving him. Although they decided to stay silent, a few have since spoken against him.

In light of this antisemitism news, Kanye West can no longer use the mental illness card he had left in his corner. Those CNN reports suggest that the Donda rapper is not mentally ill at all. Since many years ago, he has been contemplating this divisive speech. Though naming his album like that may have been provocative, his intentions tell a lot about who he is. However, there is no wonder that all brands that sponsored him have distanced themselves from the rapper.

People are addressing Kanye West’s fans who claim these brands dropped him and destroyed his fortune, but they suggest that Kanye West is the only one responsible. In a matter of weeks, he virtually destroyed his legacy. It will take a long time for him to return to public life, even if he returns to sell fashion in some other capacity.
