“I’m not a monster, I’m a human being”: Obsessed With Perfection, Kelly Ripa Has a Strict Ritual She Follows Before Every “Live” Show

Kelly Ripa is a 52-year-old Morning Talk show host who refuses to age. Some might believe she is a vampire, some may think she sold her soul to satan to be forever young. While those facts remain unaddressed by her. Her perfect diet and workout routine might be the reason for her ever-glowing youth.

She follows a rigid structure when it comes to any routines about her health. But at the end of the day, she is just as human as we are. Thus, she allows herself to eat cheat meals and cravings but in a controlled amount.

In a recent interview with E Online, she revealed her fitness mantras.

Kelly Ripa enjoys Cheat Meals on Occasions

On being asked if she allows herself to indulge in cheat meals, Kelly Ripa‘s answer reflected restraint. Here is what she said to the interviewer.

 “I try not to have that many cheat meals because cheat meals lead to sort of a cheat lifestyle. This is at my age. So, if you’re younger, enjoy that aspect of your life. But at my age now, I find that it takes too much effort to get ready, so I just stay ready. On my birthday, will I have cake? Of course… I’m not a monster. At Christmas, do I eat cookies? Yes, I’m a human being. What I will indulge in is delicious chocolate-covered almond or chocolate-covered cashews… so I still feel like there’s something ‘healthy’ in there. I also have been making a chia pudding. Delicious chocolate chip pudding.”

All things considered, this is a good mantra to live by. A healthy restraint on diet does no harm but good instead.

Kelly Ripa’s pre-show rituals

Before Live with Kelly and Ryan, her go-to thing is a  “Bullet Coffee” which consists of two shots of espresso and a tablespoon of ghee, and a packet of collagen powder. This and green supplements are her two “can’t miss” things on her to-do list before her live show. While her show is running she prefers to sip a Starbucks latte.

On holidays, her breakfast is a healthy chocolate chia seed pudding along with coconut water, pitless dates, cacao, cashew nuts, and coconut oil.

Except on Sundays, when she goes all out.

“On Sunday, it’s a full hot breakfast. They’re not fat-free, but they’re delicious.”

Keeping a healthy balance in her life.

The post-show routine of Kelly Ripa

Kelly Ripa prefers chewable meals after she is done with her shooting.

“I don’t have any sort of chewing food before I talk on the air. When we’re finished, what I’ll have is a green apple cut up. Then I take two tbsp of almond butter and a tsp of cinnamon… I blend it all together and I put the apples in there. And I eat that like a porridge if you will. That is my first chewable food of the day.”

One might think this is a pathetic way to start a day but it clearly works for the star. Her lunch follows after that, a green salad which features a few fats such as avocado and mixed nuts can never go wrong according to her.

“I eat lunch at such a weird hour, it’s really a breakfast-lunch. I have a big salad of microgreens with avocado and toasted nuts on top. Sometimes I have pine nuts, sometimes pumpkin seeds, sometimes I have walnuts, and sometimes I have cashews. The avocado toast kick of 2015 into 2017, was two years where an avocado toast was pretty much the foundation of my diet. And I had it with just about every meal. Sometimes I would fry an egg and add that on top. Sometimes a piece of cheese would accompany the avocado toast. But the avocado toast was a real staple of my diet.”

Kelly Ripa prefers to keep carbs on the low while keeping fats and proteins high on her diet. When it comes to workouts she does not lay off. An intense workout routine along with her diet keeps her the way she is.

“We have such a blast together and she can get everything she needs, strength, cardio, power, stretching, in one place, instead of running to different boutique studios trying to fit it all in. Plus, music is everything. We are both obsessed with finding the best music. It really drives the workout,” her trainer said In Style.

Kelly Ripa clearly does not back down. She is a perfectionist and is aging like a fine wine inspiring many people to follow their resolutions and not take them lightly in order to catch up with her.
