With Spider-Man: No Way Home only a few weeks away, Marvel fans are eager to discover what the future holds for the web-on-screen slinger’s realm. We received a surprise hint of that earlier this autumn in the post-credits sequence of Venom: Let There Be Carnage, which introduced Eddie Brock (Tom Hardy) and his titular symbiote into the Marvel Cinematic Universe, implying that he’s now aware of Peter Parker’s (Tom Holland) existence. In a recent interview with Collider, Marvel Studios president Kevin Feige discussed the decision, which had been talked about and periodically disputed for several years, and stated that it eventually came together for a variety of reasons. “When you look at the obvious comic connections between Venom and Spider-Man, it’s inevitable,” Feige added. “So the obvious question is, ‘How do we start to integrate them?'” “So the minute Sony created their Venom movie and it performed as brilliantly as it did, and Tom Hardy became as legendary as he has become as Venom, the obvious question is, ‘How do we start to merge them?'”

Prior to the release of Let There Be Carnage, Kevin Feige told fans that a Venom/Spider-Man crossover wasn’t out of the question, as is the case with most MCU speculations. I don’t want to go into speculation or conjecture about what may or might not happen with characters that Marvel Studios hasn’t yet brought to the screen, but I will say what I’ve always maintained after working at Marvel Studios for 20 years: I wouldn’t discount anything. I’m not going to rule anything out. ” Earlier this summer, Feige told Rotten Tomatoes. It remains to be seen when, how, and where. Any story you hear on the internet might come true at any point between tomorrow and never. ” After the sequel emerged and blew fans away, Feige spoke about his role in it, claiming that it required “a lot of coordination.” “There was a lot of collaboration — and if you don’t know all of the coordination yet, I’m not going to tell you — but yeah, between Sony and Marvel and the Venom crew and the No Way Home team… We worked together on that,” Feige stated.

With so many villains set to appear, some have suggested that Venom may make a cameo appearance in Spider-Man: No Way Home. There are several comics that Sony and Marvel may turn into Venom/Spider-Man MCU movies. While it’s still unknown how and when a Venom/Spider-Man picture would fit into the MCU’s future, Feige’s confirmation of Venom’s MCU participation implies one thing: It’s now only a matter of time until these two famous characters clash. On December 17th, Spider-Man: No Way Home will be released exclusively in cinemas.
