Even with games like Halo Infinite, Godfall, and Assassin’s Creed Valhalla, the fans of PlayStation and Xbox are unsatiated and want next-gen video games. But not just any next-gen games, they want next-gen games that look like next-gen games.

Fans want games that have extraordinarily phenomenal graphics, and that can only play on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. However, this is pretty rare at the beginning of a new generation. It is because, at the beginning of a new generation, developers are still learning about the consoles. Also, most releases of games are cross-generational to cater to everyone who does not have the new console.

So when a new game is released that does not have exceptional graphics or something that has never been done before, it gets criticized by people that don’t understand what is going on behind the scenes. Many fans don’t realize that the consoles will not cross-gen games in initial years.

Moonray Coming To PS5 And Xbox Series X

New PS5 game Moonray's Gameplay

Indie game developers called Everything is Full of Gods confirmed that their Souls-like Moonray action RPG would be released on PlayStation 5 and Xbox Series X. As explained by the developer, Moonray is an an “intergalactic adventure” and a “Souls-like hack-and-slash set on surreal planets.” Moonray is still in the early stages of development, and therefore it is still a little rough around the edges.

However, the fans are not happy with the release. Most fans are saying that the game is not what a next-gen game should look like. And as a consequence, the game has been receiving a lot of negative comments. The trailer of the game on YouTube has more dislikes than likes. The game probably got so much backlash because it announced itself as a PS5 and Xbox Series X game at a time where gamers want to see next-gen games.

Moonray Release date

In a press release, the developer of the game, Everything is Full of Gods announced that the game would be available for PC on Steam Early Access on 2nd July 2020 before the planned full release in 2021. Moonray will be available for PS5 and Xbox Series X “at a later date.”

Sound off in the comments section below and tell us your views about the new game. Do you think the backlash is fair or not?
