Shazam! Fury of the Gods also includes a group of DCEU newcomers with Lucy Liu, Rachel Zelger, and Helen Mirren playing the daughters of Hespera, Kalypso, and Atlas. The production also witnessed some delays due to the ongoing COVID pandemic before finally beginning the filming in Atlanta in May this year before concluding officially on August 31. As fans get ready for a new behind-the-scenes look at Shazam 2 at this month’s DC FanDome, a new surprise awaits from the set of the film.

To celebrate Zachary Levi’s birthday, Twitter user Shazam Updates shared a video from the set of Shazam! Fury of The Gods, giving fans a new look at the updated suit of Levi’s character. The video shows Levi dancing on the set of the movie, though the tune playing in the video is a “Happy Birthday” one for the actor. Here’s the video:

Between confirmations from director David F. Sandberg and Levi to leaked photos from the set, it’s not a secret that Shazam will be donning a new superhero suit but the new look in the video seems really enticing! Similar to the superhero family photo, the new video showcases the suit with a more subdued version of the iconic thunderbolt logo on Shazam’s chest as well as a cape that doesn’t appear as large as the one in the first film. While the suit shown in the first film was comic book accurate, the new suit definitely takes us back to the days when Shazam! went by the name of Captain Marvel.

With the production for Shazam! Fury of the Gods complete in August, this month’s DC FanDome will certainly bring more exciting Behind The Scenes footages from the film alongside an ‘already edited’ footage from the movie. However, fans are still curious about the titular villains in the film as well as the new costumes for the superhero family. DC FanDome starts on October 16 and Shazam! Fury of the Gods will hit the theatres on June 2, 2023.
