The show’s secret villain has finally been exposed in Loki episode 4, and it’s none other than TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer. Ravonna has been a mystery from the beginning of the MCU series, although her tight relationship with the Time-Keepers and tremendous authority within the TVA have undoubtedly raised suspicions. Those who are aware of Ravonna’s past in Marvel Comics may not be surprised by her evil turn into Loki. The TVA and the Time-Keepers were introduced in the first episode of Loki as the omniscient guardians of the Sacred Timeline, whose labour was credited with maintaining the cosmos in balance. That tale has gradually unravelled as the program has progressed, culminating in Sylvie’s revelation in episode 3 that the TVA’s agents are all brainwashed variations. In Loki’s episode 4, “The Nexus Event,” the secret begins to leak, culminating in a showdown with the Time-Keepers themselves. The all-powerful creatures, however, were shown to be nothing more than robotic puppets, implying that Ravonna had been pulling the strings all along.

In Loki episode 4, the show’s secret villain is revealed to be none other than TVA judge Ravonna Renslayer. Ravonna has remained a mystery from the beginning of the MCU series, despite her close ties with the Time-Keepers and immense influence inside the TVA. Those who are familiar with Ravonna’s background in Marvel Comics may be unsurprised by her wicked transformation into Loki. The TVA and the Time-Keepers were introduced in Loki’s debut episode as the omniscient guardians of the Sacred Timeline, whose efforts were credited with keeping the cosmos in balance. That story has steadily unravelled as the show progressed, culminating in Sylvie’s admission in episode 3 that the TVA’s agents are all brainwashed versions. The secret begins to emerge in Loki’s episode 4, “The Nexus Event,” ending in a battle with the Time-Keepers themselves. The all-powerful monsters, on the other hand, were shown to be nothing more than robotic puppets, indicating that Ravonna had been pulling the strings the whole time.

1. Ravonna Renslayer’s History in Marvel Comics:

Ravonna Renslayer in the comics is very different from her counterpart, Loki, but a study of the character’s past might offer some light on her probable future in the MCU. Ravonna Renslayer was initially established as a princess on the 40th-century Earth by Marvel in the 1960s. Ravonna, King Carelius’ daughter, was a strong and driven lady who immediately drew the attention of the time-traveling warrior Kang the Conqueror when he came to take over Carelius’ realm. Kang and Ravonna began a complex love affair that resulted in her death and subsequent resurrection. Kang is central to all of Renslayer’s comic tales. She had been his lover, ally, and sworn adversary all at the same time (after he chose revenge on the Avengers over bringing her back to life). She had fought as the Terminatrix in addition to her birth name while ruling Kang’s kingdom.Kang and Renslayer have battled and reconciled countless times throughout the years, a narrative device assisted by their common ability to travel the timeline. And, while Ravonna hasn’t always been completely evil, her plots have always revolved around her desire for power and vengeance.

2. Loki’s Ravonna Renslayer Villain Twist Explained:

At first glance, it appeared that the MCU’s Ravonna Renslayer would be considerably different from the comics. Ravonna was introduced as a judge and a high-ranking TVA officer rather than a 40th-century princess. She is one of the few people who has actually encountered the Time-Keepers, but at first it appeared that this was due to her high status.Following the events of Episode 4, it emerges that Renslayer’s real nature and intentions are even more evil. The fourth episode of Loki exposes a lot of significant information regarding the Renslayer. To begin with, she appears to be aware that the TVA agents are all abducted and indoctrinated variations. Renslayer’s prepared answer reveals she’d known all along when Mobius and Hunter B-15 brought up the issue. She also appears to have realised the Time-Keepers were a hoax, as she remains unaffected when Sylvie decapitates one and displays its mechanical innards. That indicates one of two things: Renslayer is the brain behind the entire TVA, or she’s working for some hidden larger force tugging the strings on her. In any case, Renslayer’s villain twist clarifies a lot. Her chamber, which is filled with artefacts from throughout the Sacred Timeline, makes a lot more sense now, as does her apparent closeness to the Time-Keepers. Ravonna’s turn, on the other hand, opens up a fresh mystery with every response. How much of the TVA’s tale was a deception if the Time-Keepers were a deception the entire time? Was there a battle between timelines in the multiverse? And, finally, what happens at the end of time?

3. What Loki’s Ravonna Renslayer Twist Is Setting Up:

Loki has a lot of options with two episodes left following the Ravonna Renslayer twist. The TVA are now plainly the show’s villains, albeit most of them are unwittingly playing that part. That means Loki and Sylvie will almost certainly bring them down — or at least attempt to do so – by the conclusion of the series, maybe restoring the multiverse in the process. Doctor Strange in the Multiverse of Madness, the forthcoming MCU film, is written by Michael Waldron, who also invented Loki. Thus, it would make sense for the current programme to repair the multiverse and therefore lead into the narrative of Doctor Strange. Renslayer’s villainous shift might be part of the setup for Kang the Conqueror to join the MCU on a grander, franchise-level scale. It hasn’t been disclosed whether she is the brains of the TVA’s hoax or whether she is working for someone else, but Kang is almost certainly involved. The villain isn’t scheduled to arrive in the series until Ant-Man and the Wasp: Quantumania, but an early cameo by Loki wouldn’t be out of character for the MCU. Imprisoning the whole multiverse in a single, controlled timeline sounds like the type of plot a time-traveling dictator would devise, and it’s very possible that Kang is the one responsible for the TVA’s construction. Whether or not Kang is involved, Renslayer’s villainous twist gives up a slew of new options for the rest of the series and the MCU as a whole. A strong organisation like the TVA makes for a fantastic enemy, and it will be fascinating to see if they survive Loki’s demise. Again, considering Doctor Strange’s approaching liberation in the Multiverse of Madness, it appears more probable that Loki and Sylvie will successfully liberate the timeline before the end of the episode. But, in order to do this in the following two episodes, they will very certainly have to fight Renslayer again.
