In the Marvel universe, the return of Wesley Snipes as Blade seems to be welcoming. However, the sources haven’t officially confirmed the news about what kind of comeback he’ll actually make. In a recent interview, Snipes revealed about the discussion his team has had with Marvel. Fundamentally, the scheme is on bringing Blade the Vampire Hunter back.

Recently, a celebration of Blade’s 20th anniversary was on point. Wesley Snipes validated movies from comic books way before the age of Marvel Cinematic Universe. During an interview, Snipes talked about his possible return to the Blade team. He mentioned that he’d be doing two projects, to be precise, that would, as he states, slide in marvellously into the MCU. He says:

“There are a lot of conversations going around right now and we’re very blessed to have the enthusiasm and interest in something coming from that world again. We’ve created two projects that fit perfectly into this world and, when people see them, I think they’re only going to have a problem with deciding which one they love the most.

All the main execs [at Marvel] and my team, we’ve been discussing for the past two years. Everyone’s enthusiastic about it, everybody gets it. But they got a business to run and they gotta square the things that they gotta figure out before they can get to it, I guess. In the meantime, we got a business to run and our own slate of things to do so…

But the next time you see something in [the Blade universe], mark my words: what we did before is child’s play compared to what we can do now.”

Previously, Wesley Snipes has manifested his delight in returning to the role. But in a current interview, he actually disclosed the news officially. Snipes promises that their current project will put previous movies like Guillermo del Toro’s Blade 2 and Blade: Trinity to chagrin. Snipes further states that this discussion has been going on for the past two years and everyone is quite enthusiastic about it. He says, “…But the next time you see something in the Blade Universe, mark my words: what we did before is child’s play compared to what we can do now.”

The Blade trilogy made a whopping $415 million at the box office. In today’s competitive world, the amount may seem to be little, but it was the best that could be made out of a comic book movie during that time. With the airing of Avengers 4, people will keep guessing what incredible things the MCU can present. Kevin Feige indicated that the character’s return was certain. The question just remained about when and where. As for who’s supposed to play the role, If Wesley Snipes has his way, he is going to return once again.
