The foremost trailer for Marvel’s next TV series, Moon Knight, is here, and fans are digging it. Having said that, comic readers also have one bone to pick with it as it hints that a key character, or an element of the character, could be well, erased in the MCU adaptation of Moon Knight. To put it simply, where the heck is Jake Lockley?

As it was made clear in the trailer itself, Moon Knight stars Oscar Isaac as a nervy gift-shop employee Steven Grant who is often seen experiencing blackouts and memories of a totally different life. Fans would know that he suffers from dissociative identity disorder and he is originally former U.S. Marine Marc Spector. This comes out as a shock and change from the Marvel comics where Steven is a billionaire businessman. What’s more, we don’t have any mention of Jack Lockley, a New York cabbie who is Marc’s third personality.

Alongside the trailer, an all-new official synopsis was also released that features no reference to Jake at all. This is leading Moon Knight fans to rally on social media, lamenting the potential erasure of a third of Marc’s character.

We also have a change in Steven’s occupation to something that’s more working-class, and it seems possible that Jake and Steven have been fused into one personality for the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Or maybe he’s being saved for season two.
