In the penultimate episode of Marvel’s What If…?, Ultron went beyond and far from the initial plan it had in Avengers: Age of Ultron. After wiping Earth and its living creatures, the robot set his vision on conquering the Multiverse that forced Uatu the Watcher to break his oath and intervene.

The resolution of the ongoing story will wrap up in the What If…? season finale that will end with the introduction of the Guardians of the Multiverse. Composed of various familiar MCU heroes, it seems like the leader of Guardians of the Multiverse will be Evil Doctor Strange. With that said, this version of the sorcerer was introduced in What If…? episode 4. Unable to accept the death of Christine Palmer, he led the universe to its destruction with magic that is far behind the laws of the Multiverse.

Apparently, Evil Doctor Strange’s appearance in What If…? episode 8 was surprising. Following the Watcher’s fight with Ultron, Strange Supreme forced Uatu to break his oath and intervene. While it is not very certain what role Evil Doctor Strange will play in the upcoming episode, he is surely poised as the key to defeat Ultron. This introduces the question that how powerful Evil Doctor Strange could be against Ultron who now has all the six Infinity Stones?

Based on many events from What If…? it is safe to echo that Evil Doctor Strange can stand strong against Ultron if they go against each other in a face-off. With that said, he might need to level up significantly if only a larger Multiversal threat shows up.

Hopefully, the upcoming episode of Marvel’s What If…? will deliver a face-off between the Evil Doctor Strange and Ultron. While the animated series has so far featured some of the greatest possible battles in the MCU, an epic action set piece in the finale is safe to expect, along with the arrival of the Guardians of the Multiverse.
