The review aggregator site Rotten Tomatoes shows that Eternals currently holds a 53% rating at the time of writing. This makes it a Rotten film and also is the first MCU movie to be it. Moreover, there are already 147 critical review counts and the movie just needs 3% more to become Fresh on RT. There are some MCU movies that have failed at RT but none of the 25 movies ever get this low rating on the site.

The past few weeks have seen constant fluctuations of the score between the low-60s and the high-50s. Even though it looks like the movie will cross the required rating, the reviews are majorly spiraling downwards. Now, this does not look good for the film because a lot of new characters are getting introduced in this movie. The lowest rating MCU film previously was  2013’s Thor: The Dark World with a 66%.  Even though it looks like a less score, it is still way above the Fresh line.

On the other hand, we have movies like Black Panther that have got a 96% rating. Right now, Eternals‘ review score is only critics’ rating. This leaves a major scope for the movie to rise up the line and make a difference. The audience can have a positive impact on the film because fans just love to see more of Marvel movies.
