The 53-year-old producer opened his doors to the royals and provided proper protection until they were settled. “It was a very difficult time for them and what I know about the two of them, that I wish the world knew, is how much they love” Perry referred in an interview.
In March 2021, the Duke and Duchess opened up to Oprah Winfrey about how Perry’s offer came to their rescue in their difficult hour providing them time and “breathing room” to figure things out. Perry reached out to Meghan Markle soon after her wedding to Prince Harry in May 2018 and encouraged her to turn to him at any time if she needed support or advice.
