Calling the Marvel Cinematic Universe as a beloved franchise would be too mild to refer to. Only a few franchises have managed to receive such a prominent, enthusiastic, and all-time successful response from their fans as Marvels. With that being said, in the last few years, the MCU has kept growing and there looks no end to it as of now. There is also a popular saying in this regard that Marvel Studios never miss out on anything. However, there have been various controversies about the MCU that remained as a stain on their legacy. These are some of them –

Captain America: Civil War –Sharon and Steve’s Kiss

The relationship between Sharon Carter and Steve Rogers was perhaps one of the most unpleasant revelations of the franchise. First, Steve discovered that Carter wasn’t his girl-next-door but a SHIELD agent who was on a mission to watch over Captain America. Later, Steve found that Carter was the niece of his love interest from the WWII era. While sharing moments together, Sharon and Steve shared a kiss. And it was Sam Wilson and Bucky Barnes who watched the kiss from the car. While for many, it was quite a romantic angle to drool on, others found it quite disgusting as for them Captain America was kissing his ex-girlfriend’s niece.

Black Widow Referring Herself As A Monster

The romantic angle between Bruce Banner, AKA the Hulk, and Natasha Romanoff, AKA Black Widow was perhaps one of the most controversial MCU moments ever. There are quite some reasons behind this. With that being said, during a conversation between both of them, Natasha went too far to explain her past and apparently called herself a “monster.” That is quite a difficult line to hear from an Avenger and perhaps difficult to digest.

Barnes Not Getting The Steve Roger’s Captain America Shield

We have seen Steve Rogers’ Captain America getting disappeared at the end of Avengers: Endgame. When he returned, he looked quite old and there he handed over his titanium shield to Sam Wilson, AKA Falcon. The only other prominent person on the list was Bucky Barnes. As a result, many of the fans argued that Bucky was more deserving than Falcon. With that being said, both Wilson and Barnes have served Steve Rogers in Marvel Comics equally. However, Bucky did it first, and hence; he should have been the one whom Steve Rogers would have handed over his shield.

In The Falcon and the Winter Soldier season 1, it was Sharon Carter who was assumed to be the real Power Broker. However, by the finale, being such a heroic character, Carter portrayed herself as a cold-blooded murderer who killed Karli Morgenthau. This sudden twist in the plot defined the entire franchise somewhat in a wrong way and as a result, it remained as a stain on the Marvel Cinematic Universe thereafter.
