Marvel and Disney+ series, Hawkeye, has wrapped up its season one. While the series delivered quite some entertainment to its audience, it also managed to introduce some exciting things for the future of the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Fans didn’t expect it to be this great. However, when the series ended, it showed up to be one of the best MCU shows on Disney+. It provided a foundation for multiple MCU aspects that are going to show up in nearby future as Phase 4 proceeds further.

With that being said, the series, at least, followed the track of MCU’s other shows in one way. Yes, Hawkeye helped set up the foundation for many aspects that are going to show up in the future projects of the MCU. These are 5 out of them –

A New Protagonist

Maya Lopez, AKA Echo
Maya Lopez, AKA Echo

By the end of the second episode of Marvel and Disney+ Hawkeye, a mysterious character showed up to become the main antagonist of the series. The character turned out to be none other than Maya Lopez who stepped forwards to take revenge for her father’s death. Yes, it was Ronin who killed Lopez’s father. This backstory, however, painted her in a sort of sympathetic light. This was all the groundwork that Hawkeye episode 2 did so that the franchise could establish her as a prominent future protagonist for the Marvel Cinematic Universe. Moreover, this character, Echo, will be going to have her own Disney+ series by the end of 2023.

Introduction Of Kingpin

While episode 2 of the Marvel and Disney+ series, Hawkeye, proved that Maya is not the main villain as of now, the same episode revealed that it is none other than Kingpin himself. It was Vincent D’Onofrio who portrayed Kingpin in both Daredevil and Hawkeye. This helped the franchise open multiple doors for the future because we all know how ruthless Wilson Fisk, aka Kingpin could be. Of course, there exist multiple questions about whether the character will be backed up by other characters from the comic world or not. However, the introduction itself is sufficient to predict multiple events that are going to be far more intriguing than what has happened till now.

Another Avenger Onboard

Kate Bishop in Hawkeye

If there is this one thing that Marvel and Disney+ shows have done quite well, it is setting up new characters, or say, Avengers, for the future Marvel Cinematic Universe’s projects. With that being said, the franchise this time introduced Kate Bishop; who could be a prominent young Avenger alongside Billy, Tommy, and Wanda. In fact, Kate could become the leader of a young Avenger group where fans’ will get to see her leading characters like Ironheart, Ms. Marvel, and Miss America.

A New Friendship

Furthermore, the Marvel Cinematic Universe’s Phase 4 has helped the franchise to bring in a lot of new characters on screen. Two of them are of course Kate Bishop and Yelena Belova from Marvel and Disney+’s Hawkeye. Both of them interacted with each other in Hawkeye episode 4 and surprisingly, their bonding immediately foreshadowed. Maybe it was Clint’s comment about the shot he never took with Black Widow that catalyzed their friendship. In fact, when Kate got an opportunity to shoot Yelena, she didn’t. Thus, fans’ might get to see the rise of a new friendship anytime soon in the MCU’s future.

Hawkeye Could Become A Good Mentor

Clint Barton, AKA Hawkeye

There have been many controversies around Hawkeye for being a guy with a bow fighting alongside the Avengers and super-soldiers. However, the level of bravery Barton possesses is something unmatchable for the rest of the heroes of this generation. With that being said, Clint Barton was reluctant at first but finally, he managed to play a mentor to Kate Bishop and accepted her as his partner by the season finale.
