Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress and a very incredible one at that. She won the Oscar word for her role in The Danish Girl. In a recent conversation with The Sunday Times, the actress opened up about her difficult journey to becoming a mother. The actress has had a miscarriage both on and off-screen lives. In her new show Irma Vep, one of the characters is going through a miscarriage which the actress said she has experienced herself.

Alicia Vikander has a 17-year-old son with Michael Fassbender. In a talk with The Sunday Times, she revealed that she has experienced a miscarriage herself before. She said it was “extreme and painful.” She, later on, continued that they have a child now but it took some time for them to get there.

In the movie, The Light Between Oceans, Alicia Vikander first met Micheal Fassbender, her current husband, for the first time. In that movie, Vikander’s character went through 2 miscarriages. “Talk about Meta,” the actress told The Times. She said that the movie “took on another meaning” after she experienced a miscarriage herself. She said that it was so extreme and painful that she called making the movie.
“Most people would not be able to step out of their house.” Alicia Vikander said
The actress said that sometimes you go through things in life and if you have an office job, you can step away for a bit. But in her field of work, there are times when she or her colleagues might have gone through something and will have to help make something similar to their trauma. “I can’t understand how they went on to the red carpet afterward.” She further added, “To be met by people asking, ‘How are you doing?’ Given what they had just been through? Most people would not be able to step out of their house.” To go out and face people in times of sadness like these, requires an absurd amount of courage.
Vikander also mentioned how she and Fassbender are raising their son as both working parents. “We do every second job,” she said. “One stays at home while the other works.” The actors had their son back in January 2021 and like to keep the finer details to themselves.
