Disney+ upcoming new show Ms. Marvel just gave us a little teaser in the form of a small video clip. Iman Vellani was cast in the titular role back in September of 2020; but audiences hadn’t seen her as Ms. Marvel until this video showed up.

A Twitter account called Iman Vellani Brasil posted the video of the young actress on the set of the show. Vellani is seen donning the red and blue costume, something quite similar to what her older counterpart, Captain Marvel wears.

Kamal Khan’s No Normal :

The new video posted online shows Vellani’s character climbing on top of a roof of a house in her homemade costume. The scene was like an introduction of Kamala Khan to the world of superpowers and superheroes in the comics; and it’s great to see Marvel doing this particular scene for the show.

Kamala had recently learned of her shapeshifting powers, and in the comics she subconsciously turns herself into the spitting image of her favorite hero – Ms. Marvel. Although in the comics it was Carol Danvers in her black and yellow costume.

It is the very first story of the Ms. Marvel comics by Marvel called “No Normal”; and the fact that Disney is trying to recreate the show on the exact steps of the comics is going to make comic book fans around the world very, very happy!

The Marvelous Ms. Marvel :

The Ms. Marvel comics were first issued back in 1977; written and illustrated by Gerry Conway and John Buscema. While the character of Kamala Khan first came into existence in the later parts of 2013, in the 14th issue of Captain Marvel. The character was created by Sana Amanat, Stephen Wacker, G. Willow Wilson, Adrian Alphona and Jamie McKelvie.

Since her arrival into the comic scene, Kamala Khan has gone on to become one of Marvel’s most popular superheroes. Since then the character has been part of a few animated projects like that of Marvel Rising and the video game Marvel’s Avengers.

Although we do not have a date for when Disney+ is going to release Ms. Marvel; we do know when we can see Vellani in the character of Kamala Khan/ Ms. Marvel soon. The actress is supposed to reprise her role alongside Brie Larson’s Captain Marvel and Teyonah Parris’ Monica Rambeau in Captain Marvel 2. For now, the movie is all set to release in November of 2022.
