Robert Downey Jr. and Johnny Depp are some of the biggest names in the film industry. Those two have been at the very top of their game for at least more than a decade and are also great friends. The two are much closer than one might think. The actors are so close that Depp even has a nickname for the Ironman actor. Today, we look at a time when Depp’s son, Jack met RDJ for the first time and immediately became a bigger fan of Ironman than he ever was of Captain Jack Sparrow.

Johnny Depp talks about his relationship with Robert Downey Jr.

Once, in an interview, the Pirates of the Caribbean actor talked about his relationship with Robert Downey Jr. In the interview he referred to the Dr. Dolittle actor as ‘Bob.’ The interviewer cross-questioned him about calling Robert Downey Jr. as Bob, to which he explained that they have known each other for “a million years“. Depp said, “We sort of came up the ranks together in a way back in the 80s.” He further said referring to RDJ, “He’s someone I’ve always admired,” and that they have a good relationship with one another.

Johnny Depp’s son is more into Ironman than he is into Captain Jack Sparrow

In the same interview, the Minamata actor explained how his son became a bigger fan of Ironman. He explained how one evening Robert Downey Jr. and his wife had come over for dinner at his place. Depp said that his son was so shocked that Ironman was sitting next to him that he couldn’t move. Depp further said, “I saw Captain Jack leave my son’s eyes and Ironman was the ticket.”

Johnny Depp has been in the news a lot this year because of his infamous defamation case against Amber Heard. The decision of the high-profile trial was largely in favor of The Professor actor. The jury awarded a total of $10.35 million to him as compensatory damages. However, Amber Heard has decided to appeal the court verdict. Now, the case is going to reopen before a three-judge court of the appeals panel.
