Arrowverse may get to see a major Batman villain soon, if this announcement is any indication at all, that is. It was revealed by The CW that Cassandra Jean Amell will play the role of Nora, wife of Mr. Freeze in the upcoming crossover between The Flash, Arrow, and Supergirl this December.

Mr. Freeze is, of course, a classic Batman villain who debuted in 1959’s Batman #121 as Mr. Zero before he took the name Mr. Freeze in 1968’s Detective Comics. However, his wife entered the scene after the Emmy award-winning “Heart of Ice” episode of Batman: The Animated Series. Nora was married to Victor Fries, a cytogenics researcher at GothCorp. Unfortunately, Nora was diagnosed with cancer soon after and in an attempt to save her, he froze her so she could live longer until a cure gets developed. Meanwhile, Victor gets attacked in his lab and gets mutilated by the chemicals turning into Mr. Freeze.

It’s still unclear how impactful Nora’s role will be or if her husband will also appear in the Arrowverse but one thing is for sure, her presence will certainly fuel things up in the Arrowverse. Surprisingly, Nora isn’t the only new addition to the Arrowverse this year. Kate “Batwoman” Kane, played by Ruby Rose will also be making her onscreen debut along with Lois Lane, played by Elizabeth Tulloch.

Cassandra Amell, who is the wife of Arrow star Stephen Amell has earlier appeared in Mad Men, CSI: Miami, NCIS: Los Angeles, Hart of Dixie and One Tree Hill.

The highly anticipated crossover will air over three episodes, starting from December 9 till December 11.
