New set photos for Indiana Jones 5 have finally offered fans a look at the long-awaited sequel’s set which is in production in Italy, with Mad Mikkelsen and Harrison Ford in it. The Indiana Jones franchise began in 1981 with the Raiders of the Lost Ark as the franchise is well-known for boosting Ford to stardom alongside his performance as Han Solo in Star Wars. Ford has successfully carried the role of Indiana Jones through three released sequels and will now bring his time as Jones to a close with the fifth film.
Indiana Jones 5 Will Be the Last Film In The Franchise
Coming over a decade after the previous film, which took almost two decades to get off the ground, Indiana Jones 5 will mark Ford’s final performance as Jones and will also be the first film to be not helmed by Steven Spielberg who agreed to let someone else step into his shoes. The decision bought Logan filmmaker James Mangold into the loop, who is co-writing the script for the film with Ford v. Ferrari pair Jez and John-Henry Butterworth and has also assembled a star-studded cast which includes Phoebe Waller-Bridge, Mads Mikkelsen, Toby Jones, Antonio Banderas and Boyd Holbrook. The production on Indiana Jones 5 has finally gotten underway in the UK in June and now fans have started getting new looks from the film’s set.

UK’s Dailymail has now unveiled new photos from set film’s set in Italy. The photos see Ford donning his iconic leather jacket with grey pants and faded yellow shirt alongside Mikkelsen in a Panama hat and a fancier grey suit. The images also show an older vehicle decorated with flowers akin to that of a bride and groom at a wedding.

Indiana Jones 5 New Set Photos Hint At A Wedding
While the new set photos don’t offer much insight into the relationship between Ford’s Indiana Jones and Mikkelsen’s undisclosed character, it does give us a glimpse at what fans can expect from the two in the film. Although it has been 13 years since the last time Ford donned the leather jacket and hat, the actor looks about the same age as he did in Indiana Jones and the Kingdom of Crystal Skull. It has also been reported that Harrison Ford got back to the filming back in September after an on-set injury in the shoulder while performing a stunt which makes the photos’ confirmation of Ford having healed and now working, slightly comforting for all longtime fans of the franchise.
The tease of a certain wedding in the film’s latest set photos has also generated various speculations as the last film concluded with Harrison Ford’s Indiana and Karien Allen’s Marion getting married. The Raiders of the Lost Ark star hasn’t yet been confirmed to appear in the latest Indiana Jones sequel, creating some curiosity as to who could be getting married in the scene and why Jones is wearing his usual adventure outfit during such an event. However, only time will reveal this when Indiana Jones 5 hits theatres on July 29, 2022.
