Batman is among the smartest and most capable minds around. He’s also a skilled fighter, a genius and an absolute master of disguise. Some of these aspects of The Batman have been so far neglected in the films. However, in the Matt Reeves directed The Batman, these aspects of will be shown in it.

As per a new report, we have a few official details of the film. The Batman is set to begin filming in 2020, and the film has been underway since Batman v Superman: Dawn of Justice went into its production stage. Ben Affleck was originally set to star in the film but since the movie was handed over to Matt Reeves, it’s been clear that it’s going to be a different film.

Batman’s Detective Aspect Has Been Ignored So Far

While Ben Affleck has been appreciated by fans for doing some intense action scenes, a few fans complained that Affleck’s Batman didn’t explore the “detective” aspect of the character. The films focused more on the superhero elements, tortured psychology and brooding. It looks like the detective part of batman has attracted both Robert Pattinson and Reeves, and apart from showing how he turned into a hero, The Batman will feature the other side of Bruce’s development and what he could do with those skills.

According to The Hollywood Reporter, “this new Batman needed to conform to a defined age bracket. He is written as around 30 years old, and the story is neither another re-hashing of his origin nor the tale of a seasoned crime fighter ruling Gotham City. He is Bruce Wayne still trying to find his footing on his way to becoming the genius detective.”

This will help in differentiating Pattinson/Reeves film, which will be the first of a potential trilogy from the Planet of the Apes director. The comics explored his detective skills as Batman made his debut in the Detective Comics, but in the films, he’s treated like how comics treat Superman: someone who thinks that he can punch his way through anything.

Joker is the next DC release in October. The Batman is slated for a 2021 release.
