Angelina Jolie is one of the most talented actresses in the Hollywood industry. Having started her career as a child actor, she has successfully dominated the industry with her talent and has been named Hollywood’s highest-paid actress multiple times. This could be one of the reasons why she is going to lead Pablo Larrain’s new biopic based on American-Greek soprano Maria Callas.
While many fans are excited about this new biopic starring their favorite actress, some are not happy with it and called out the actress for choosing this film just to bag another Oscar trophy for her achievements.
Who is Maria Callas?
Maria Callas was an American-born Greek soprano who is known as one of the most renowned and influential opera singers of the 20th century. She was known for her vocal technique and wide-ranging voice and dramatic interpretations. Even though her successful career looks like a blessing at first, she had to go through an unpleasant childhood.
She was raised by an overbearing mother who wanted a son. When her mother came to know about her talent for music, the five-year-old Callas was pushed into singing lessons. She endured many struggles and scandals throughout her career. Even though her personal life garnered major attention among the public, it was never able to overshadow the achievements that made her one of classical music’s best-selling vocalists.

Couldn't imagine her to be. Tbh her American looks too mainstream as Callas. Maria Callas had this classic Mediterranean beauty & European elegance to her air. Also her acting skills is too limited for me, always a good seductress/femme fatale but nothing else as convincing as.

No no no – are you sure her ego will fit or just overshadow the story of a great singer? Name one film where the character she plays displays humility?
