Rachel Zegler gave a savage reply to a question that took the internet by storm. To be very honest, it is not a great time for the DC universe superheroes, surrounding all the controversies and drama. She joined the massive Shazam franchise as one of the daughters of Atlas, Anthea. The American actress and singer made a name for herself in the 2021 musical drama West Side Story. And is to date the youngest for winning a Golden Globe Award for Best Actress – Motion Picture Comedy or Musical at just 20 years of age.

In a recent red-carpet interview, Rachel Zegler addressed the question of what made her join the DC universe, here is more about it.

What made Rachel Zegler want to step into the world of DC heroes?

The actress, Rachel Zegler did not hesitate at all while answering the very same question. She just simply stated,

“I needed a job. I’m being so serious.” 

This single line made the clip of The Hollywood Reporter interview go viral. But turns out, she was being serious. Zegler then proceeded to share the struggles she faced during lockdown because West Wild Story wasn’t out yet. She was unable to land roles due to the pandemic and it restricted her from doing the job she loves. Therefore, it was hard for her, so naturally, when Shazam! Fury of the Gods came along her way she was “really excited”.

She then further added how this job saved her in a literal sense,

“I’m so lucky that I got this job,–I made some of my best friends on this job and I just absolutely adore this movie, too, so I’m excited.”

She still cannot believe they wanted her to come back after her audition and feels incredibly grateful that they did. She took the opportunity at the premiere of the second installment of the Shazam franchise, to thank everyone who helped her reach there. Rachel Zegler is now set for the release of her Disney-live action musical on Snow White, where fellow DC alum Gal Gadot will be joining her as the Evil Queen.

How did the fans react to the viral clip?

The people on Twitter went wild, the clip itself garnered over 200k views and counting in just few hours. One delighted fan called her honesty “refreshing”,
